‘Domestic trouble’: Man kills wife and son, attempts suicide

Police say Muhammad Javed slit his wife Farzana’s throat and strangled his 2–year-old son Danish.

LAHORE: A man attempted suicide after killing his son and his wife on Sunday. Police said Muhammad Javed, a resident of Mohallah Noor Colony, Ghaziabad, slit his wife Farzana’s throat and strangled his two –year-old son Danish. He then called Rescue-1122 and tried to stab himself. Rescue officials managed to stop him and he only injured himself. Police later reached the scene and arrested Javed. Police said he told them that he had killed his wife and son over domestic troubles. Police said Javed was a rickshaw driver and had married Farzana three years ago. Farzana’s sister told police that Javed would ask his wife to cover her head and would squabble with her when she refused to do so. Police have registered an FIR against the man.
