MQM indefinitely suspends party membership of senior leader Saleem Shehzad

MQM says Shehzad breached the party's code of conduct. Shehzad asks party what he has done wrong.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced on Friday that it was suspending veteran member Saleem Shehzad’s party membership for violating their code of conduct.

A statement from MQM ‘said that the party’s rabita committee (coordination committee) had decided to suspend his party membership for an indefinite period.

Further, statement added that any personal or business relations of Shehzad had nothing to do with the party at all.

MQM extended a warning to all members to strictly adhere to its code of conduct.

Shehzad seeks explanation from party


In tweets from his account Shehzad asked the party what exactly he done wrong that his membership was being suspended.



Shehzad added that he was only doing his job in Dubai with no connection to the party and that he had never involved the party in any personal activity.

This tweet was posted shortly after another tweet where he said that his social media account had been hacked on Friday. He requested that any tweets from his account in the hours prior to the hack announcement, should be ignored.
