Cricket: SSGC keep hopes alive with comeback
SSGC were 298 for seven in 70.4 overs at the close of play.
KARACHI:
A combined team effort helped SSGC score a commendable reply against CDA’s mammoth first-innings total of 416, to give themselves hopes of winning the final of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II, with first-class qualification at stake.
SSGC had gambled on Amjad (earlier sidelined due to injury) after dropping Haris, who had scored a century in his last outing; however the move paid dividend, as the former scored crucial runs. The lower-order also performed, as Saifullah (62) and Mohammad Irfan (42) both remained unbeaten with their team still trailing by 118 runs.
