KARACHI: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive SM Muneer has assured jewellery exporters that he will convey their concerns over the ban on gold import to the finance minister. The office bearers of All Pakistan Gems Merchants and Jewellers’ Association (APGJMA) met Muneer on Friday at the TDAP head office. Muneer said that he would request the government to facilitate jewellery exporters at the country’s airports in order to increase exports. The TDAP chief emphasised upon the office bearers of the APGJMA to get them registered with the TDAP which is a mandatory requirement under the SRO-760. APGJMA representatives requested the TDAP chief to urge the government to lift the ban on the imports of gold in the country, which has badly affected the exports of gold jewellery since it has witnessed a 70% dip.
