KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) central leader Syed Owais Muzaffar on Monday announced to provide solar electricity to 3,500 households in district Thatta of Sindh, where, he said, two million trees will also be planted.

He was talking to journalists and addressing corner meetings during his visit to various parts of Thatta district.

He also announced to set up dispensaries to work round the clock in Jhampir and Jhangri. He said compensation would also be paid to the people affected by the Darawat dam project.

“The PPP is a party of the people and its aim is to serve the people,” he said, adding that no conspiracy could break the strong bond between the people and the PPP.

He alleged that opponent forces were hatching conspiracies against the party. “However, people are the best judges and no one can misguide them,” he said, adding that the PPP received guidance from the collective aspirations of the people and used it to craft its policies.

He said the former president Asif Ali Zardari and the PPP’s patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari were taking special interest in expediting the development projects in the province.

Owais along with senior party leaders – including former minister Maula Bux Chandio, Faqirdad Khoso, Arbab Wazir Memon, Sadiq Ali Memon – made a detailed trip to the famine-hit Kohistan areas and instructed authorities to ensure provision of basic necessities.

Owais also announced to install reverse osmosis plants for water purification in 25 villages of Kohistan. He visited Goth Abdullah Shoro, Jhangri, Darawat Dam, Loni Kot and Goth Wali Muhammad Shoro, where people informed him about their problems.
