The police have not made any headway in investigation into the murders of two doctors, who were targeted in Karachi on February 17 and March 17.
The police have failed to gather any substantial evidence in any of the cases. According to sources, unknown people killed Dr Shaukat in Azizabad locality of Karachi on March 17.
Station House Officer (SHO) Irfan Asif told the Daily Express that police had registered a case against unknown people after the relatives of the victim denied the possibility of any personal feud.
He, however, admitted that the police could not make any progress in the case. Dr Shaukat was targeted when he got out of his car after reaching his clinic.
A month earlier on February 17, Prof Dr Javed Kazi was also targeted as he was coming out of Karachi Medical and Dental College.
Dr Kazi had been associated with the field of teaching for the last 15 years and was a professor of pathology. Recognising his contributions to the field, the governor of Sindh had appointed him the dean of medicine at the University of Karachi.
Police have been unable to bring the culprits to justice even after one month. In this connection, the Taimoria Police SHO Shaukat Awan said they were making every effort to identify the culprits and would apprehend them soon.
