World T20: Pakistan beat New Zealand by six wickets in warm up match

Kamran Akmal and Hafeez scored half century as Pakistan claimed victory.

DHAKA: The Pakistani cricket team defeated New Zealand by six wickets, with one ball remaining in a warm up match ahead of the World Twenty20  in Dhaka on Monday, according to ESPNcricinfo

Captain Muhammad Hafeez scored 55 runs off 39 balls, peppering his innings with three fours and five sixes. Kamran Akmal, who has returned to the side for the tournament, shook off the cobwebs with a half century of his own.

Nathan McCullum was the pick from the bowlers from New Zealand, managing to take two wickets for 21 runs in his allotted four overs.

Earlier, New Zealand opted to bat first after winning the toss.

They managed to score 145 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Brendon McCullum scored 59 runs, smashing Pakistani bowlers for four sixes and remained not out.

Umar Gul was the pick from the bowlers from Pakistan, claiming three scalps in his four overs, conceding just 16 runs.
