LAHORE: Indian film actor Om Puri said on Sunday the people of India and Pakistan should get opportunities to come closer to each other. He was speaking at a luncheon hosted in his honour by Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid leaders Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at their residence on Sunday. Hussain and Elahi welcomed Om Puri and said what Om Puri has done to bring the two countries closer is what the foreign offices of the two countries should be doing. “Om Puri speaks to hearts of the people of both countries”.  Om Puri said both countries had opened windows to each other...it was time to open the gates as well. “Our leaders need to have big hearts. The hatred we see spewed on newspapers is not reflective of how the people of both countries feel towards each other,” he said. Relatives across the border should not have to face problems trying to meet one another.
