KARACHI:

Diseases such as obesity, hypertension and diabetes are the main factors causing kidney disorders. This was observed by experts at the free medical clinics organised by the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) to mark World Kidney Day on Thursday.

SIUT had made special arrangements along with screening clinics to highlight the significance of the day and create public awareness. At the clinics, the experts addressed the public about health indicators and prevalence of kidney diseases while offering free medical examination and screening facilities.

Over 500 people visited the SIUT’s premises to avail the facilities and obtain medical advice. Facilities such as ultrasound examination of kidney, pathalogical screening X ray, advisory service of physicians and dieticians were offered. Nephrologists assisted by medical experts from other related medical sciences were also present to provide expert opinion.

Shamshad Ghouri | 10 years ago | Reply SIUT is doing excellent job but SIUT Sukkur is not running smoothly. 1. No permanent faculty there. Doctors come from Karachi for 1 week and rotate 2. No emergency services 3. Dr. Iqbal DaoodPota is rude. He misbehave with patients, attendents, senior doctors. We all request Adeeb Rizvi sahab to take notice of this Shamshad Ghouri
