Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Abdullah Zaki welcomed the Finance Ministry’s decision to settle refund claims of less than Rs1 million by April 15, 2014.
The country’s business community has been constantly urging the government to speed up the process of refunds as it has been hampering the growth of businesses.
Zaki appreciated Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s directives to the concerned authority to settle refund claims of 26,000 cases, which will provide a sigh of relief to exporters who were concerned about the likely losses due to depreciation of the dollar against the Pakistani rupee.
“We are ready to utilise all our expertise and resources to promote industrialisation in the country but the government must also continue to support the business community and refrain from anti-business moves,” he added expressing optimism about the potential to revive business.
