Military reaffirms resolve to fight terrorism within parameters set by govt

RAWALPINDI: Just days after the Army Corps Commanders held a huddle over the security situation in the country, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) met in Rawalpindi where they reaffirmed their resolve to fight terrorism within the policy parameters set by the government.

According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations on Wednesday, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mahmood, presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, issues pertaining towards national security and emerging regional environment came under discussion.

The meeting reaffirmed the resolve of the armed forces to fight terrorism under a comprehensive strategy within the policy parameters set by the government.

Participants expressed their satisfaction over the standard of preparedness of the armed forces to take on the upcoming challenges being faced by the country.

The meeting was attended by COAS General Raheel Sharif among the chiefs of the tri-services and other high ranking officials.

JCSC is a quarterly moot of senior military leadership to assess and evaluate the operational preparedness of the armed forces.
