Many people of the Lund tribe staged a sit-in around Bhagat Kunwar Ram Chowk in Jarwar in protest against the murder of three Lund tribesmen in Ghotki district on Saturday.

Khadim Lund and his nephew, Sudheer Lund, were sitting at their auto spare-parts shop in Jarwar when four armed men on two motorcycles opened indiscriminate fire and fled. The man, his nephew and a customer, Bakhsh Ali Malik, died on the spot, while another customer, Mohammad Nawaz, suffered injuries.

On hearing about the incident, some tribesmen reached the spot and staged a demonstration along with the dead bodies. They raised slogans against the police for their failure to protect the lives and properties of the people.

The protesters ended the sit-in when the area police assured them of delivering justice promptly.

A team of doctors from Mirpur Mathelo was sent to Jarwar, who conducted post-mortem of the bodies in a cotton ginning factory of Fayyaz Khan Lund. The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital, Mirpur Mathelo. No case had been registered till the filing of this report.

According to the sources, six months ago, a suspect, Mir Mohammad Bozdar, was killed by the locals in the Noorabad village. Since his murder, the Bozdar tribesmen had been looking for a chance to seek revenge which they finally did.
