
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday received bids from two companies for the lease of narrow-body aircraft in the presence of journalists, the airline said in a statement.
Qatar Aviation Lease Company and KL Aero Parts submitted bids for Airbus 320 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Qatar Aviation’s bid included eight A320 aircraft. Four of the aircraft were manufactured in 2011 while remaining in 2012. KL Aero Parts offered 10 A320s and 10 737-800 aircraft of 2014 make.
“The bidders have committed delivery by last week of July,” it said, adding the management will make a recommendation to the board of directors in 10 days.
“Financing of these aircraft will be done from PIA’s
own resources and partially with the help of the government.”
