Abducted PFF official, driver recovered within four hours

The general manager of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF), Jamil Junejo, was recovered within four hours of his kidnapping by the police in the precincts of the Waghan police station in Qambar-Shahdadkot district.
Junejo and his relatives were on their way to their village from Jamshoro when three dacoits opened fire on Junejo’s rented car on Sunday evening. After his recovery, Junejo informed The Express Tribune that he and his driver were abducted by some dacoits, who took them towards the jungle.
A police picket close to the spot from where he was kidnapped was immediately informed. “My brother and other relatives ran towards the picket and informed them about the incident. The law enforcers responded quickly and foiled the kidnapping bid.”
According to PFF officials, the pressure on the police by top officials made Junejo’s recovery in such a short span possible. “I saw the police cordon off the area. The searchlights of the police could be seen as the kidnappers tried to move us from one point to another,” narrated Junejo.
He said that one of the kidnappers also spoke on his cellular phone in an unfamiliar language to inquire about the situation. “The kidnappers were eventually forced to abandon us. They directed us not to move and fled,” he said.
The police could not, however, arrest a single kidnapper. “I appreciate their efforts. The recovery of abductees is usually not possible in such a short time,” added Junejo, who was kidnapped around 8pm and was recovered by midnight.
