ISLAMABAD:
Tapping into a subject close to any girl’s heart, Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-7/4, hosted a stimulating Urdu debate competition on fashion as part of the second day of an inter-collegiate competition on Wednesday.
A total of 11 colleges from the twin cities participated in the Urdu declamation contest, “Fashion and its implications on personality.” The topic brought forward some interesting key points reflecting a conservative point of view as opposed to a liberal perspective.
Mehwish Ishtiaq, Bilqees from the College of Education, Chaklala, Rawalpindi, secured the first position, while Nimra Ahmad, Fizaia from Inter College Chaklala, Rawalpindi, stood second and Aqsa Rana from IMCG F-7/2, Islamabad, stood third.
The second component of the event was a painting competition. Eight colleges took part in the still-life competition while five colleges were a part of an abstract art competition themed, “Ecstasy”.
In the still-life competition, Roshnan Ali, Govt Post Graduate College for Women, Satellite Town, stood first.
In the abstract art competition, Ammara Shakir, Govt Post Graduate College for Women, Satellite Town, came first.
The Express Tribune cannot comment on the artwork because the correspondent was not allowed to view the paintings at the exhibition, nor did the organisers have a set of photographs at hand to give to journalists.
