Allama Taqi Hadi Naqvi shot dead in Karachi

In another firing incident, the caretaker of a madrassa was also killed.

KARACHI: Shia scholar and educationist Allama Taqi Hadi Naqvi was shot dead in Karachi on Thursday, Express News reported.

Naqvi was targeted in front of the Healthcare hospital in North Nazimabad area.

Unidentified armed men opened fire at a rickshaw as he got out of the vehicle. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Madrassa caretaker killed 

In another shooting incident,  the caretaker of a madrassa, Maulana Ali Hassan, and his son, Qari Manzoor, were killed when unidentified men opened fire in Sachal Goth, Karachi.

Hassan's cook, identified as Gul, was also injured when four men on motorbikes opened fire near madrassa Matmaul Uloom.

Shops in the area were closed after the incident and traffic is also sparse.

The injured and the bodies of the deceased were taken to the Patel Hospital.

Policemen clash

In a separate incident in the city, a clash between two police officers at the Orangi Town police station left an ASI injured.

According to sources, a head constable and Orangi Town ASI Mohammad Abbas had an argument which turned violent.

The constable fired on Abbas, injuring him. Abbas was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

The police have taken the head constable into custody.

Another person was killed in a firing incident in Al-Noor society of Karachi.

Qari Jabbar was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on his vehicle. Another person was also injured in the incident.
