Usurping funds: FIA nabs officers for corruption
The Federal Investigation Agency’s team arrests officers and contractors of Larkana’s public works department.

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) team arrested officers and contractors of Larkana’s public works department on Tuesday evening. The agency had received complaints of these officials misappropriating funds for development works. The team, led by FIA SHO Nisar Sawand, successfully raided and arrested seven officers of the department and contractors on their alleged involvement in usurping funds meant for development works, confirmed FIA Sukkur deputy-director Abdul Hameed Bhutto. The arrested officers include executive engineer Abdul Hameed Burdi, assistant executive engineer Ahmed Nawaz Solangi, sub-engineers Muhammad Ali Rahojo, Aftab Memon, Ilam Din and Mehram Ali and contractors, Om Parkash, Ramesh Kumar, Sultan Shaikh and others. Four persons including the former executive engineer Qazi Naziruddin, Inayatullah Bhutto and others managed to escape but FIA teams are looking for them.
