Sindh assembly sets aside differences to pledge support for 100% enrollment
Resolution unanimously passed in Sindh Assembly to ensure every child between the age of five and 16 is in school.

All lawmakers of the Sindh Assembly on Friday set aside their differences and joined hands to unanimously pass a unanimous resolution for 100 per cent enrollment and dramatically improved quality of education in Sindh.
The resolution tiled “political charter” was moved by Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro following major political parties of Sindh pledged on Thursday to sign a charter to improve education.
“We are committed to ensuring 100 per cent enrollment in the province so that every child between the age of five and 16 is in school, in keeping with Article 25-A of the constitution and Sindh Rights of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2013,” read the resolution.
In the resolution, which was adopted with standing ovation, expressed firm commitment by leaders of PPP, MQM, PMLN, PTI and PML-F. “We are determined, notwithstanding our political and ideological difference to support each other in making sure that our collective commitment to ensure 100 enrollment in Sindh is widely known and widely own with our parties and among our cadres. We may disagree on many, but we are united in the pursuit of 100% enrollment across the province.”
The resolution further said, “We believe that Sindh cannot progress without literacy and numeracy. We are committed to dramatically improving the quality of education our children receive, particularly in reading Sindhi, Urdu and Mathematics. We promise to sustain our interest in education in Sindh. We will come together through parliamentary and extra- parliamentary measures to re-visit the state of affairs and assess progress at least once every three months.”
During his speech, Khuhro urged all the lawmakers to play their role for quality of the education ensuring 100 per cent enrollment in their constituencies. “Let put our differences aside and play role for our future generation. Out of a total 43000 schools in the province 38000 are working. Around 6 million children are currently out of the schools. It is high time please join hands for this noble cause,” he said.
