According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the COAS visited the FC Headquarters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Friday and interacted with the troops.
Appreciating their spirit and high morale, the COAS said that the entire nation acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by them as part of national effort to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from Pakistan, and assured them that these sacrifices will not go waste.
“Let there be no doubt that Pakistan armed forces are battle-hardened and fully capable to counter any internal or external threat posed to the integrity and sovereignty of our beloved country,” the COAS emphasised.
Recounting security forces’ successes in various operations against terrorists, he lauded the efforts and determination of all troops and LEAs who cleared affected areas, with the help of local population and support of the entire nation.
“We are fully prepared to confront any challenge in future as well,” the COAS reaffirmed.
Earlier, on arrival at Peshawar, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani, Corps Commander Peshawar and Major General Ghayur Mahmood, Inspector General Frontier Corps K-P.
General Raheel Sharif also visited Headquarters Army Strategic Force Command today. He was given detailed briefing by Lieutenant General Obaidullah, Commander Army Strategic Force Command, on operational and security matters.

Every single provocation, attack by the TTP must be answered by immediate and effective strikes against the TTP bases and supporters. The Takfiri Tehreek-e-Pakistan has used violence as such through violence they need to be responded to.
Enough of the sweet talking and peace talks. These people, throughout their history have only respected power. Devastating power that raises the stakes for the Takfiri Taliban.
Gen. Ra Heel will condemn and make statements. And make pinpricks strikes. To keep public placated, and think a blood thirsty army is waiting to be unleashed. As long as Punjab is safe and protected, that is all that matters. The army is infested with TTP sympathizers. Stayed in barracks, only 3 kilometers from D I Khan jailbreak. Lasting 2 1/2 hours. Terrorists escaped back into FATA..
@unbelievable: They are capable indeed to set up barriers and lines of control with all neighbouring states. They have militarised7radicalised the people during their decades of military rule; they rode roughshod on Pakistan institutions and prevented any meaningful reforms, their former General is now in the dock to answer the charge of treason, while his collaborators are still free with their rampage in the border regions, their fighter jets dropping bombs on villages while the civilian Government was announcing its intention of having a dialogue with the resistance. For all practical purpose Pakistan now has a civilian Government of Mr Nawaz Sharif which cohibits the rule with the military junta under General Sharif, the democracy has been suspended without any parliamentry degree or military mnifesto, though at local levels the military is reported to have defacto taken over the control from the civilian adminstrations.

@A J KHAN:
Really? How about the mass grave found in Baluchistan? Did anyone asked support for it from Media, Courts and Government?
The nation is with you all the way. Enforce the writ of the government
If there is a strong resolve Pak army is fully capable of eliminating even ten time bigger threat than what we see today.Real war will be fought in streets of mainland when real enemies aka mullah will resist emergence of Jinnah's Pakistan which is a ultimate goal of this nation.What I mean to say is this war will escalate leaving no choice but to abandon discriminatory law of the land,the real cause of all troubles.The clouds of this war are looming on our heads so be prepared.
But when Sir!!!!!!!:-SS

*The glorious history of the Pakistani Army!
@baloch Southall:
A democrat does not need the army to protect him nor does the democracy, the peoples Government seek army support to suppress the opposition. The men in Khaki belong to the army camps to protect the country's sovereignty. Pakistan military must be reformed to become a National army leaving their traditional role of the colonial army..

If this army is so capable then someone explain why militants have essentially taken control/influence over almost half the country? Supporting the military is natural patriotic response but an honest objective appraisal is long overdue.
2nd attempt:
Pakistan is imploding while its military is unable to suppress its citizenry in the border region despite ordering the military rule and curfew in garrison towns and the use of excessive force against the civilians with long range artillery pieces and fighter Jets bombing to flatten waziri dwellings, the new army chief in the Government is talking about Pakistan nuclear Programme!
Whatever happened to the parliamentarians in the country if the military is claiming the support of the entire Nation for their sacrifices and the civilian head came into power with just a majority vote only. Is this not what the former military Chief is also boasting about? Has someone sighted the second half of the Government namely Mr Nawaz Sharif?

@Sara Khan: I am sorry but your statement is totally irrelevant. Indian in disguise... I think:)
