The IT minister was chairing the 22nd meeting of the PSEB board of directors here on Tuesday.
Reviewing ongoing projects, the minister directed the PSEB chief to prepare proposals for enhancing existing capacity of the software export board, and to suggest measures for making it more vibrant and fruitful.
It was also decided that the IT ministry and the PSEB will participate in IT exhibitions to facilitate IT companies in Pakistan so that they would have an opportunity to market their products locally and internationally.
Hiring a technical advisor
The PSEB was asked to expedite appointment of technical adviser to deal with the World Bank for the proposed technology park so that it could be established within the stipulated time.
The minister directed PSEB chief to make all necessary arrangements for an early settlement of the land issue with the Punjab government to acquire allocated land to establish IT park in Lahore, given how the issue has been lingering for many years.
The PSEB has a pivotal role to play in this era of technological advancement to make Pakistan as an ideal destination for IT business for potential companies and foreign investors, the minister emphasised at the meeting.
Federal IT Secretary Ahklaq Ahmad Tarar, PSEB Managing Director Amir Malik and former co-chairman of federal govt's IT task force Salim Ghauri were also present.
