Spirituality: Ghulam Fareed’s urs to begin on Feb 8

Development schemes worth Rs240 million has proposed for Chachran Sharif to facilitate resident and visiting devotees.

KHANPUR: The annual urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed will begin in Kot Mithan in Rahim Yar Khan district on February 8. Thousands of devotees are expected to attend the event. Ahmed Khan, coordinator to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, said that development schemes worth Rs240 million had been proposed for Chachran Sharif to facilitate residents as well as visiting devotees. He said, “Currently people reach the shrine through boats after crossing River Sindh. A major bridge is under construction at this point which will be completed next year.” Several non government organisations have urged the RY Khan district coordination officer to declare February 8 a local holiday to facilitate people who wanted to join the urs celebrations.
