Crackdown: Police nab more than 80 suspects

Around 82 people were arrested during a search operation in Regi and Phase-VI of Hayatabad on Wednesday. The operation was launched early morning and continued for several hours. A contingent of police backed by a bomb disposal squad (BDS) unit and sniffer dogs conducted a door-to-door search operation in Regi village and arrested around 20 people, including three proclaimed offenders. The suspects were shifted to a local police station and are being interrogated by a police team. Similarly, a large-scale operation was conducted by the police in Phase-VI, Hayatabad in the jurisdiction of Tatara police station. Around 62 people were arrested in the operation in which BDS units and female constables also participated. During the operation, around 13 vehicles were checked and cleared via the latest SIM technology. One AK-47, two pistols and 65 cartridges were recovered from arrested suspects.
