TTP welcome peace talks
A shura will make the final decision regarding peace talks: TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid has welcomed peace talks with the government, Express News reported on Wednesday.
He said the final decision regarding talks would be made by the shura (consultation council).
This statement from the TTP leader came soon after Nawaz Sharif's announcement in the National Assembly that he has made a four-member committee for negotiations with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Earlier in the day, Asmatullah Muawiya of Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjab had also welcomed the talks.
Muawiya had said the only way to ensure the survival of and to protect the country is through dialogue, adding that the Punjab Taliban have always supported peace talks.
