President to diplomat: New envoy to UAE asked to foster ties
President says that the ambassador must extend every possible measure of support to the expatriate community.
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to United Arab Emirates (UAE), Asif Ali Khan Durrani called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday. Congratulating Durrani on his appointment, the president urged him to focus on further strengthening Pakistan’s ties with the UAE. He emphasized the need to further promote Pakistan’s economic and trade ties and said that the present government accords great significance to the development of trade and commercial cooperation as an integral part of its foreign policy objectives. Noting the presence of 1.25 million Pakistanis in the UAE, the president said that the ambassador must extend every possible measure of support to the expatriate community.
