Dictating cops: PTI MPA booked for interfering
Police official maintains lawmaker threatened officials of transfer if they did not release the party’s activists.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker from PK-26 Iftikhar Mashwani was booked by Takht Bhai police on Saturday morning for allegedly interfering in government affairs. The case was filed by Takht Bhai SHO Shah Mumtaz Khan who claimed the MPA unlawfully asked the police to release PTI activists arrested as part of a crackdown against unregistered motorcycles. Another police official maintained the lawmaker threatened officials of transferring them if they did not release the party’s activists, but the police did not comply with his demands. Later, a case was filed against Mashwani under Section 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code and an investigation is under way.
