Trading skills: ‘Over 600k units of manpower exported’

The minister urged promoters to devise a plan for the maximum export of manpower.

ISLAMABAD: As many as 622,000 units of manpower was exported during 2013, Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) apprised the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), Pir Syed Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi in a quarterly meeting.  The minister said that the government attaches great importance to overseas Pakistanis as they are the back bone of our economy and send huge amount of foreign remittances, annually. He urged promoters to devise a plan for the maximum export of manpower to mitigate the problem of unemployment in the country. The delegation informed Rashidi about the efforts being made for the maximum export of manpower and assured that similar efforts would be made to enhance the number of exporting manpower. Vocational training institutes are also being established to prepare skilled manpower for export to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries and to start additional vocational training institutes.
