KARACHI:

The shopkeepers of Aladdin shopping centre, led by All Karachi Tajir Ittehad chairperson Atiq Mir, protested against the centre’s administration on Friday afternoon.

The angry traders held placards and shouted slogans.

Mir said the administration was harassing the shopkeepers by cutting off the electricity connection.

“They are also charging heavy maintenance charges from the shopkeepers but are not providing the services,” said Mir.

Around 400 shops are located in the vicinity, which is near the amusement park.

“The promise of cleanliness, security, clean water remains unfulfilled,” he said. If the demands of the shopkeepers are not met, then the protests will continue, one of the shopkeepers said.

The administration had also registered false cases against the traders, he added.
