Regulation: PTA orders end to call setup charges
All CMOs have been directed by PTA to implement the order without causing any inconvenience to subscribers.
ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued instructions to all Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) to stop the recently imposed call set-up fee. The PTA issued these directions in light of provision of the Telecom Reorganisation Act and Consumer Protection Regulations 2009. All CMOs have been directed by the PTA to implement the order without causing any inconvenience to mobile phone subscribers. It may be recalled that mobile operators had imposed a call-setup charge of Rs0.10 + tax on each call on December 25 and posted a notice on their website about the development.
