Ambitious: Govt keen to increase kinno exports

Provincial Secretary Agricultural Ejaz Munir has said the Punjab government is keen to take ‘extraordinary’ steps to enhance the production and export of kinno.
Federal Parliamentary Secretary Barrister Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said the government’s initiative included Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s approval to set up a dry port in Sargodha.

Provincial Secretary Agricultural Ejaz Munir has said the Punjab government is keen to take ‘extraordinary’ steps to enhance the production and export of kinno.
While addressing a citrus seminar at Kot Shahnawaz village, the secretary said that the export of the fruit will be increased from $200 million to $1,000 million. He said that the seminar’s suggestions will be forwarded to the Punjab chief minister, while implementation will begin next season.
Munir said that the government had entered into an agreement with the California University for producing seedless kinnos, adding that around 100,000 tube wells will be converted to bio-gas during the next five years for agriculture promotion.
