Karo-kari murders: Four people shot dead in honour killings

A man and woman were gunned down on suspicion of illicit relations.

SUKKUR: Four people were killed in two separate incidents of Karo-Kari within the RD-109 police limits near Buxapur in Kashmore district on Saturday. The first incident took place in the village of Yar Mohammad Jakhrani, where a man and woman were gunned down on suspicion of illicit relations. Miran Jakhrani suspected that his daughter was having an illicit relationship with a man and shot the man at a hotel, killing him on the spot. He then came back to his house and killed his daughter before fleeing. In the other incident, which took place in the village of Khan Beg Jakhrani, a man killed his wife and another man over suspicions of an extra-marital relationship between the two. The accused, Shahnawaz Jakhrani, first shot his wife and then went to the man's house where he shot him dead. All four victims were shifted to Buxapur hospital for postmortems but no cases have been registered so far.
