Press Release December 20, 2013

KARACHI: Defence and Clifton Association of Estate Agents finance secretary, Muhammad Younus Rizvi, has welcomed the government’s decision to set up the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera).

“We appreciate the efforts and decision of the government to establish and modernise the real estate sector. We also thank the government for giving importance and preference to this sector,” he said. He was of the opinion that, unlike most countries, the real estate sector had not been given much importance in Pakistan. Rizvi appreciated the step taken by the government, saying that the regulatory body will not only benefit the businessmen working in the sector but also have a positive impact on the country.

The authority will now be responsible for issuing licences to those who may operate in the sector. Rizvi suggested that associations and businessmen associated with this sector should be given representation in order to solve their problems.
