Afghan FC beat KRL to stay second

Afghan Football Club retain second place in Pakistan Premier League as they beat defending champions KRL 1-0.

KARACHI: Afghan Football Club retained second place in the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) as they beat defending champions Khan Research laboratories (KRL) 1-0 as National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) won their second match of the tournament defeating Pakistan Elecktron Limited (Pel) 1-0.

After a dull first half, Afghan FC’s Abdul Hadi scored the only goal of the match in the 59th minute to move up to 26 points and leave KRL struggling in sixth with 19.

Jamil Ahmed scored in the 30th minute to seal the 1-0 win for NBP against Pel. Karachi Port Trust (KPT) drew against PMC Athletico Club 1-1. Naseer Ahmed scored the opening goal for KPT in the 26th minute as they led 1-0 at the interval. Ahmed’s goal was then equalised by Haroon Yousof in the 59th minute as KPT now share fourth position with Pel with 20 points. Pakistan Navy also had a good run as they beat Habib Bank Limited 2-1.
