
Talking to The Express Tribune, a traffic police official said the SSP traffic had ordered the action.
“We are removing extra cylinders from the cars and then releasing them to their owners,” claimed the official. He added around two dozen CNG cylinders had been removed so far.
According to the traffic police official, the crackdown against encroachment also remains in full swing. At least 46 people have been arrested and booked under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
“As per court orders, around eight people have been arrested on charges of running illegal bus and pickup stands in Peshawar,” said the official. He shared another 65 vehicles, mostly buses, have been impounded for using pressure horns.
