Development: First phase of oil tankers project complete

KARACHI:
The Zulfikarabad oil tankers parking terminal project will only be productive after the tankers have been shifted to it, said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui.
The second phase of the project is currently underway and will be completed within the next six months. The approval for the funds of phase-II, amounting to Rs860 million, has already been granted. Over 35 per cent of the sum has been received and the remaining amount is expected to be released soon, said the administrator.
He was addressing a meeting on the construction of the terminal, which was attended by project coordinator Faisal Saud, engineering director-general Niaz Soomro, transport and communications senior director Muhammad Ather, project director Ansar Zaidi and other officials. The administrator reported that about 83 per cent of the development work in the first phase was complete and the remaining work will be finished soon.
