Badhaber police arrested 44 suspects, including four proclaimed offenders, in a search operation in Kagawala, Bazid Khel, Ahmad Khel, Surizai and other surrounding villages on Saturday morning.
The operation was carried out in the area after recent attacks on police, including a roadside blast in Charsadda which injured two policemen on Friday, along with increasing incidents of kidnapping.
Three AK-47 rifles, three pistols and 500 cartridges were recovered in the raid while a man, identified as Raziq, was injured in exchange of fire with the police in Surizai.
A police official said Raziq is the brother of proclaimed offender Zia whose house was raided by the police. He said the suspects will be released once they are cleared by the investigation team.
A night earlier, militants kidnapped the in charge of a polio vaccination team, Olas Khan, from his residence in Masho Khel village.
