ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, while addressing his party supporters and legislators, pledged to stop Nato containers until and unless Washington assures Islamabad of stopping drone attacks.
PTI chief was speaking to the people who had come from many parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) to protest against US drone strikes in tribal areas. He reiterated that the “K-P government won’t allow Nato supply through the province come what may.”
“We all stand united against the US’ drone war in Pakistan’s territory,” Imran told the protestors who went on to record their protest under leadership of K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. “It’s time to wipe out dual policies — tell truth to the nation,” Imran advised the rulers.
Do not try to topple our government in K-P, Imran cautioned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, otherwise his [Nawaz Sharif’s] government will be toppled. “We do not want war with United States — but it is our basic right to protect our territory from foreign aggression,” Imran said, urging the parliamentarians to say truth before the people.
He said that he is proud of the K-P government and PTI’s allies for taking a united stand against the drone strikes. Members of the National Assembly and provincial assembly from PTI, along with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, participated in the protest.
