LAHORE: Both sides of the Punjab Assembly passed a resolution on Tuesday condemning the attack on the offices of Express News a day earlier in Karachi.

Leader of the Opposition Mian Mehmoodur Rashid of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf presented the resolution. It stated that the house condemned the militant attack on the Express News office. It demanded that the Sindh government arrest the perpetrators of the attack and provide adequate security to media outlets.

Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the treasury benches supported the resolution.

Journalists from the Punjab Assembly Press Gallery Committee also briefly boycotted the proceedings of the house to express solidarity with the Express Media Group.
