Harassment at work: LHC takes notice of traffic warden’s complaint
The traffic warden alleged that Superintendent Malik Nazar Abbas, the chief traffic officer, had raped her.

The Lahore High Court on Sunday took notice of the harassment of a traffic warden by the Multan chief traffic warden.
The court took notice of the matter on a press report. The Lahore High Court’s complaints cell directed the Multan district and sessions judge to submit a detailed report concerning the steps taken by the police, along with his own comments.
The traffic warden appeared before the Multan regional police officer (RPO) and said Superintendent Malik Nazar Abbas, the chief traffic officer, had raped her at his office. She said that she gotten pregnant as a result.
She said that the chief traffic officer had threatened her with “dire consequences” in case of pursuing the case. She said that when she approached the Multan city police officer (CPO), he pressured her to reconcile with the chief traffic officer.
According to a news report, the regional police officer has forwarded the traffic warden’s complaint to the Inspector General of the Punjab Police.
