LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge had directed the Mustafabad SHO to record a petitioner’s complaint about an alleged copyright violation regarding his restaurant, Haji Sardar Machli Farosh.  Petitioner Muhammad Javed told the court that rights to the title and logo of the restaurant, which has several branches around the city, were registered in his name. He said that Allah Rakha, Allah Ditta and Umar Azeem had opened a restaurant using the same logo and name, which was a violation of the Copyrights Act. The petitioner said that he had asked them to stop using the title, but they had threatened to kill him. He said that he had approached the police to register a complaint, but the SHO refused. He asked the court to order the SHO to register a case against Allah Rakha, Allah Ditta and Umar Azeem.
