KARACHI:

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Dean and Director Dr Ishrat Husain and International Commission on Workforce Development (ICWFD) chairperson, Asad Shah, on Wednesday.

An official said that IBA has been selected by the ICWFD to act as an exam centre for its educational project. The MoU explains that although all the courses offered by the commission will be conducted online, IBA will play a crucial role in ensuring that students’ identification is properly checked. Shedding light on this, Shah said that the only reservation about e-learning was the difficulty to verify students’ identity at the time of examinations. “Having a reputable institute like IBA Karachi as our exam venue will rid us of those doubts.”

When asked why he decided to extend this venture to Pakistan, Shah said, “Pakistan lacks universities. In the existing universities, the quality of education is not of a very high-level.”
