LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has set November 27 for arguments on a petition filed by a man seeking a case against eight people including his son-in law for allegedly burning his daughter to death.  Petitioner Muhammad Hanif submitted that his daughter Naseem wed Amir on October 15, 2010. He said that they had an unhappy marriage and Amir kicked Naseem out of the house. He said that his daughter had complained to him that Amir beat her. He said that he sent her back to her husband, telling her she must respect him.  On October 27, 2013, the petitioner said, he received a call from his son-in law saying that Naseem had set herself on fire and she was in the hospital. He said that Naseem died a few days later. Haneef alleged that Amir, Rani Bibi, Akram, Munawwar, Hadayat and three unidentified persons had murdered his daughter. He said that the police refused to register a case on his complaint. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the eight people.
