Dengue fever: Patient from Thatta takes death toll to 30

This has been the first death from Thatta this year.

KARACHI: Another person has died in Sindh due to the dengue fever, taking the total death toll to 30 in the province since January. The total number of patients is 4,869, according to the Sindh Dengue Surveillance Cell. This has been the first death from Thatta this year. A 77-year-old man hailing from Thatta district was brought to a private hospital of Karachi on November 12 where he died during the treatment on November 23. Earlier, the health officials claimed that the season of the dengue virus would continue till mid-November but now they say it will continue till mid-December. “Though the number of patients has reduced but the patients with dengue fever will be reported for the next month,” said Dr Shakeel Mullick of the dengue surveillance cell.
