LAHORE: The Punjab government is to replicate the Germany Pakistan Training Initiative (GPATI), launched earlier this year in Karachi by the German Consulate General, to give young people employable skills. The Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) is organising a seminar at a hotel in the city on Friday, in collaboration with German aid agency GIZ, to help prepare for the GPATI launch in the Punjab, which is scheduled for next month. Experts will make presentations on the implementation of the programme in Karachi and the infrastructure that will be required in the Punjab. The Germany Pakistan Training Initiative, which aims to provide skilled youth based on market need, is based on a training model long in use in Germany.
