Govt cuts fee for workers moonlighting on PSE boards
The decision will rationalise the fee of government servants nominated by the government in various boards.

ISLAMABAD:
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has decided to lower the fee of civil servants nominated by the government on boards of different Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) and corporate entities.
Dar has decided that such civil servants will only be permitted to retain an amount of Rs600,000 per annum as fee on account of their participation in board meetings. Any amount received over and above this from PSEs or corporate bodies would have to be refunded.
The measure is a part of the present government’s policy to enforce austerity in PSEs and maintain financial discipline by ensuring that government servants receive a realistic fee for their contributions.
Some government servants have been earning huge amounts running into millions.
