SHO murder case: ATC sends two suspects to jail

The police also recovered two hand grenades.

KARACHI:
The Anti-Terrorism Court-II remanded on Monday two accused, Muhammad Asim and Azhar Mahmood, to jail custody till November 26 in the murder case of Sir Syed police station SHO Syed Irfan Haider. The police brought the accused men to court in an armoured personnel carrier and produced them before the ATC-II judge under tight security. The SHO and New Karachi police station investigation officer sub-inspector Shahbaz Ali were killed in an attack in North Karachi near Anda Morr while they were checking vehicles. According to the police, four motorcyclists stopped near the police checkpoint and opened fire on the policemen. After the incident, the police arrested Mahmood while Asim was arrested on October 28. The police also recovered two hand grenades from the possession of Asim.
