Empowering skills: Govt to build 0.15m literacy centres

The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) has planned to set up 150,000 literacy centres in the next five years, reveals documents of education, trainings and standards in higher education ministry. According to the document, 375,000 students would be imparted literacy skills in these centres. The plan of action states that 30,000 literacy centres would be set up each year over the span of the next five years. In the centres 75,000 students would be enrolled each year, this would be in addition to the literacy enhancement activities carried out by the provinces.
