Safety situation: Adviser to PM calls for conviction of criminals

The adviser promised the federal government’s complete support in order to establish and maintain peace in Karachi.

Adviser to the Prime Minister, Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed, has emphasised the need of the conviction and called for advocacy and prosecution of the criminals apprehended in the operation.


He said this while presiding over a meeting on Saturday evening to review the law and order condition in Karachi. The meeting took place at the office of Sindh chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana.

Ahmed discussed different aspects of the law and order situation and the assistance required by the operation being carried out in the city. The adviser promised the federal government’s complete support in order to establish and maintain peace in Karachi as well as the rest of Sindh. The meeting also focused on the capacity of all 24 Sindh jails, while matters relating to the Anti Terrorism Courts were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by prominent officials including ministry of law secretary Zafarullah Khan, home department additional chief secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch and Karachi commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui.
