Energy investments: US energy companies meet delegation
Minister briefs participants about recent reforms undertaken by government to manage acute energy problem.

WASHINGTON:
During the fifth round of the Pak-US Energy Working Group session, the Pakistani Power sector delegation led by the Minister of Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, was held at the US Chamber and Commerce for a business roundtable. Asif briefed the participants about the recent reforms undertaken by the government to manage the acute energy problem. The Council invited several executives from leading US energy companies such as the American Wind Energy Association, Solar Energy Industries Association and Geothermal Energy Association to meet the Pakistani delegation. The minister shared the previous discussions with the US government held in the Energy Working Group meetings and highlighted the interest shown by the US government to collaborate with the Pakistan in providing technical and financial assistance in reviving the energy sector.
