The law enforcement agencies have apprehended more than half a dozen suspects for their alleged involvement in the attacks outside the imambargahs in the city on Wednesday night.
Around 12 people, including media personnel and law enforcers, were wounded in three explosions that took place outside two imambargahs in North Nazimabad and North Karachi.
According to the bomb disposal squad’s experts, the first blast was carried out with the help of a remote control, second exploded with a timed device and the third one was a hand grenade. However, the law enforcers are still uncertain if one terrorist group or more carried out the attack.
The law enforcers conducted raids where explosions took place and detained around 10 suspects allegedly involved in the attacks. Additional IG Shahid Hayat claimed that few suspects have been rounded up. The police have registered cases against unidentified persons by placing the Section seven of the Anti-Terrorism Act and Section 3/4 of the explosive act.
