The continuous delay in the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) elections has irked several officials who feel that their lobbying may get affected.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was all set to complete elections in major regional associations of the country but the process was inexplicably stopped midway, generating fears that important votes may be changed once the process is resumed.
The KCCA elections are of immense importance this time around as senior figure Sirajul Islam Bukhari will not be part of it after ruling the association for more than four decades in different posts.
“The KCCA elections should be held quickly otherwise it could affect the voting,” a senior KCCA official told The Express Tribune.
“Lobbying for votes was in full swing and everyone was ready for elections, but this delay may affect the outcome now because people can change their loyalties in the meantime, and ultimately cricket will suffer.”
